There wasn't a Wal Mart, McDonald's or other chain in site, which I consider a good thing. And, while the temperatures in Iqaluit may be very cold, the citizens are not. Everyone I met was warm, friendly, polite and unhurried. I am grateful for the hospitality shown to me through Allen and the other new friends I made while visiting the capitol city of Nunavut!
Just prior to my travels through Ottawa and Nunavut, I entertained at a private booking near Hilton Head, South Carolina. When Marion picked me up at the AVP airport I told her the 35 degree temperatures in S.C. felt like a heatwave compared to the 6 degrees Farenheit air that greeted me at home!
Previously I was in Manhattan for a private fundraiser. New York City is always exciting, but performing before such an appreciative crowd made my trip to this great city even more rewarding.
Thank you to everyone from the beautiful Jewish Community Center for you hospitality and enthusiasm.
Many of our visitors ask, "When will you be performing in Atlantic City NJ or at an East Coast public venue again?"
I just wrapped up a booking at Atlantic City's Hilton Casino Resort where I performed as Neil Diamond in A Really Big Shew! (Special page put together by Marion, with photos: Hilton Casino - A Really Big Shew.
Marion, Therese and I enjoyed visiting with friends and family members who traveled to Atlantic City to see A Really Big Shew. I was part of an outstanding cast of seasoned entertainers: Hendrick (plate spinner and Neon Man); Glenn Singer, comedien (El Gleno Grande - the funniest visual act ever!); Jeff DeHart (impressionist and impersonator of Ed Sullivan); Pete Michaels (ventriloquist, comedien, and singer) and, of course Topo Gigio (brought to life by Pete). The show ran through January 22nd. It was great seeing Bernice and Gary, Annie and Frank, Jim, Leo and Theresa, Anne W., Rita (mom!) and a few other familiar faces, as well!
I will also be at The Broadway Theatre in Pitman NJ in February and have many exciting bookings coming up in 2009.
COUNTING MY BLESSINGS...
Being an entertainer often means uncertainty and, in the past, a great deal of time spent away from home, friends, family and loved ones. As part of paying my dues in show business, I have had to perform in productions and shows in places such as Phoenix - Scottsdale AZ, Las Vegas, Jackpot & Laughlin NV, Atlantic City NJ, Pigeon Forge - Gatlinburg TN and elsewhere. Bookings have necessitated that I live part of each month on both the East Coast and the West Coasts of the United States.
Fortunately, in the last two or three years of my career, I have been in demand for many private appearances, private parties and limited engagement shows. This has meant that on the majority of occasions Marion and Therese were able to accompany me or that my time away from home was very short.
Take a look at some of the cities that we've visited in the past few months: Appearances 2008.
Some interesting and varied bookings this year: Canadian casinos in Toronto and Fort Erie, Ontario; singing Hava Nagila at a Jewish temple for a wedding at a temple in Closter NJ; an active 55 community in Wanaque, NY; indoor and outdoor appearances at festivals, county fairs and fundraisers throughout Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey and further away in Wisconsin and North Carolina; a beautiful nightclub in Worcester MA and to a huge charity event in Midtown Manhattan in New York City! All were a great deal of fun. Other recent past private and public bookings have taken me to up and down the East Coast, to the West Coast, Canada and also the South and Midwest- with more surprises to come, perhaps?
I have received many inquiries about available dates in 2009 but have dates available. So fill out our no obligation booking inquiry form to see when I can entertain for you!
Keep checking back for updates on public appearances."
