| "There is no such thing as bad publicity except an obituary" - Brendan Behan, Irish poet, writer and humorist (1923 - 1964) Tom Sadge appeared as Neil Diamond on THE NEXT BEST THING: WHO IS THE GREATEST CELEBRITY IMPERSONATOR? June 6, 2007 Episode, New York If you blinked, you would have thought you saw Neil Diamond! Yes, Tom Sadge performed as Neil Diamond at the end of the New York City NY auditions episode of ABC's The Next Best Thing: Who is the Greatest Celebrity Impersonator Unfortunately, many clips on ABC's The Next Best Thing are short and highly edited! We are sorry that so many of Tom's friends and fans didn't get to see his whole performance on WHO'S THE GREATEST CELEBRITY IMPERSONATOR. Such editing is, unfortunately, allowed because before you are allowed to audition, you MUST give them permission to edit in any way possible for the good of the show...and remember, this is primarily a COMEDY show and not a musical talent show. The judges on THE NEXT BEST THING were VERY complimentary about Tom's talent and he was instructed to sing "He Ain't Heavy" after he performed Sweet Caroline. The three judges, Lisa Ann Walter, Elon Gold, and Jeffrey Ross, and Michele Merkin, hostess, did not appear to be very familiar with Neil Diamond. |
