Tom has also performed at The Plaza in NYC, as well as throughout the state, including the Catskills resort area.
Tom Sadge's performance and interview on WPLJ for the Scott and Todd Show (The Big Show...see a photo by clicking on the SCHEDULE link below) was the talk of Manhattan! Tom performed live at the PLJ studios high above Madison Square Garden (where Barbra Streisand performed her highly publicized "last concert") in front of a studio audience.
Originally slated to sing only two or three songs, Scott Shannon and Todd Pettengill and staff kept Tom on the air, non-stop, for nearly a half hour and he performed five of Neil Diamond's most popular songs: Cracklin' Rosie, Sweet Caroline, Forever in Blue Jeans, I'm a Believer, and finally, America. Scott & Todd and the entire staff (pictured below) and special studio audience for the special show couldn't have been nicer.
Comments of "He sounds just like Neil", and "Amazing", and "we can't let him go...this is like a mini-concert", along with cheers from the audience, peppered the commentary.
Tom met many exciting and prominent New Yorkers during his stay - including one or two who popped into the station during his show! - in the Big Apple and it was an honor to perform for the mega-station...one of the largest in the entire USA...and to meet the wonderful staff. Tom received an e-mail from one of the producers which thanked him for coming in to WPLJ and it said "We got a great response from listeners in regard to your performance on the show!".
Special thanks to associate producer DIANA FERRITO as well as Joe Nolan, Patty Steele, Monkey Boy, producer Bruce Goldberg, and everyone elso on this wonderful station.
